Days of clean machines and Anahata

We just got through washing the Toyota. We only do it twice a year and boy did it need it. The door jams were full of spiderwebs, mostly because we don't drive the Toyota much. I received my new "Somerset Studio" magazine in the mail and I got very inspired with the cover picture and article about Anahata Katkin and her beautiful work. So here is my ongoing art challenge to myself. Unlike Anahata, I didn't do my little pictures on the computer, which made the process limited to what I could do. Plus, the female I chose for the pieces was in such a beautiful painting that I didn't want to cut her out of the work. I did enlarge the postcard and cut off the edges. I am happy with the outcome. Weeks ago I had sent off for a book of pre-Raphael postcards and there are some beautiful pictures in the book. This gave me a perfect subject to use. I have sent the little pieces of collage off to my new blog partners and I hope they enjoy them.

As the days turn

Hot, Hot, Hot. It must be summer. What a fun day yesterday. I went to meet up with friends and have coffee, or should I say Chai. We visited for a while then we hit the paper craft stores. We are all busy making little camping trailer ATCs. I finished my little trailers and just love them . Today I got an idea from Somerset Magazine, here is another project from the mag. I wanted something "Alice in Wonderlandish" like??? Paper dolls all lined up. I haven't folded the card yet but I have decided to give it as a birthday present to Jan. I hope she likes it.

Walk about

Started out the day walking to the corner and ended up walking around the block......

The plants are beautiful and grow lush.

Some of the neighborhood is very nice. Developers seem to be taking the postwar homes and adding apartments to the backs of the properties.

There are some beautiful gardens and some old delapidated buildings. This is a house my Grandmother lived in back in the 1950's, they have abandoned it to demolish and build condo's.

I was down to Redwood City because my dear Uncle Dick had died. We spent a couple of days at his house trying to sort things out and I walked around his neighborhood and took some pictures. Here is his house.

Trees in and out of the Forest

I have been making little trees for a "Christmas in July" swap. I drew gold swirls all over some olive green card stock and cut out tree shapes with a fancy scissors. I found some paper with writing on it but the writing was too big in scale for the card size so I printed it up smaller and I printed it on glossy paper hoping to add texture. I really liked the colors that I used even if it doesn't look like July colors. Our firewood guy came by today and is bring our 2 cords in a week. So we had a trees every where. Today is the 1st of July and this weekend is the 4th of July already. Next week is our 33rd wedding anniversary. We are going up to Truckee on July 10th to a yearly car show and to celebrate our happy union. I hope to get some great photos.
